At Universal Kempo-Karate schools Association (UKKSA), we are one big family. There are Universal Kempo-Karate Schools throughout the United States and internationally in Barbados Island. No matter which branch you train at, you become a part of our Kempo-Family; we take care of each other, we support each other, and we lift up each other.
We all carry on what our founder, Grandmaster Martin Thomas Buell, taught us and continue his legacy. Universal Kempo Karate Schools Association (UKKSA) was founded by Grandmaster Martin T. Buell in Pearl City, Hawaii in 1981.
At Hendersonville Branch, we are devoted to providing a safe place for children and adults to learn and grow together, to uplift and encourage each other, and to belong and be better together. We enjoy teaching and helping the students in their well-being and education through martial arts. We provide utmost environment by incorporating research-based activities so that students can grow healthy effectively and efficiently in all important aspects of their development.

We use the methods of Escape, Control, and Destroy in self-defense training considering the escalation of force. The UKKSA embraces the best of the traditions of the old ways and welcomes the visions of the new. The curriculum maintains the challenging and rigorous training of the ancient ways, and successfully employs the proven methods of today. The dynamic curriculum is measured by high standards and represents a realistic challenge for all participants.

Chinese Kempo Karate readily adapts to the demands of a changing world and assists the student with the mental and physical skills to meet various threats and ensures the development of Mind, Body, and Spirit of all practitioners.
